The Republican primaries’ race to the right intensifies
Augusta, Maine — MAGA billionaire Richard Uihlein’s group, Restoration of America PAC, is dumping hundreds of thousands of dollars into TV ads to boost extremist Garrett Mason for governor. Uihlein is a well-known anti-choice extremist who has backed extreme candidates across the country.
Maine Democratic Party executive director Devon Murphy-Anderson released the following statement:
“Of course out-of-state support from anti-choice MAGA billionaires is flying into Maine for Garrett Mason. They want to ban abortion, even in cases of rape and incest. Mason has spent his entire political career cozying up to extremists and he’s in lockstep with their plan to raise health care prices for us Mainers. This new cash infusion from Trump megadonors is proof they know he’ll never stand up to Trump or the extremist agenda they’re desperate to force on Maine.
“The chaotic mess that is the Republican primary will continue to be an expensive race to the right that’s more focussed on catering to the interests of out-of-state billionaires and Trump than everyday Mainers who are already struggling with skyrocketing premiums and the crushing costs of heating, housing and groceries. Whoever has the misfortune of making it out of this circus will be damaged, broke, and exposed for their far-right agenda.”
