Collins has already requested an absentee ballot to vote in the presidential election, but continues to dodge questions about who she’s supporting

Ahead of Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to Maine tomorrow, Senator Susan Collins still has not told Mainers whether she will be voting to send Trump and Pence back to the White House for four more years. With the election just around the corner and her absentee ballot in hand, Collins is refusing to be honest with Mainers about her support for the leaders of her party.

While Collins has spent 672 consecutive days evading this simple question because she made a political calculation not to tell Mainers the truth, her record from the last four years leaves no doubt about who she supports:

  • Senator Collins has consistently helped shield Trump from accountability, including voting a dozen times to block witnesses and evidence before she voted to acquit him on all charges in the Senate impeachment trial.

“Even though Senator Collins won’t tell us if she’s voting for the Trump-Pence ticket, she has spent the last four years enabling their extreme agenda,” said Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra. “Mainers want a Senator who will fight for our state, not their party leadership. Collins has proven that after 24 years in Washington, she’s no longer up to the task.”
