Westbrook, MAINE — In case you missed it, Maine’s Democratic Congresswoman Chellie Pingree is leading the charge to hold President Trump’s embattled EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt accountable amidst his mounting scandals. Congresswoman Pingree’s questioning of Administrator Scott Pruitt last week helped uncover more details behind his shady trip to Morocco last year, garnering her national news coverage:

“The reasons behind the trip came up again last week in Washington when Rep. Chellie Pingree, D-Maine, grilled Pruitt during the second of two contentious House hearings,” a report in the Washington Post report reads. “She pressed him on why the EPA trumpeted the fact that part of his time was spent promoting the benefits of U.S. liquefied natural gas imports on Morocco’s economy.

Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement in response:

“As ethics scandals surrounding Administrator Pruitt continue to mount, Congresswoman Pingree deserves praise for holding him accountable. Her sharp questioning of Pruitt last week helped to uncover the real reasons behind his quid-pro-quo trip to Morocco, which was planned by a lobbyist who then received a $40,000-a-month contract. In an Administration that is marked by such dishonesty, the people of Maine are fortunate to have Congresswoman Pingree fighting for transparency and accountability."
