Westbrook, MAINE – In case you missed, two Maine opinion columnists held back no punches in their evaluation of Republican gubernatorial candidate Shawn Moody. In his weekly column in The Daily Bulldog, Al Diamon pointed out what many have come to notice: that Moody’s highly-paid D.C. consultant is pulling all the strings on the marionette puppet that is candidate Moody:

“He placed Moody in his patented brainwashing device and wiped away any opinions he’d previously held, of which there weren’t many,”wrote Diamon. “Unfortunately, Moody’s new installed artificial intelligence still contains a few glitches that show up when he’s forced to respond to questions about state issues.”

Edgar Allen Breem, a columnist for The Forecaster, echoed much of Diamon’s assessment, writing that Moody “has everything LePage going for him.”

“Moody, however, seems to have been studying at the Bruce Poliquin Duck-and-Cover School of Political Evasion. I guess he thinks if he doesn’t tell anyone what he really thinks, they can’t hold it against him. Personally, I’m not sure Moody knows what he really thinks,” wrote Breem. “Moody ran as a middle-of-the-road independent eight years ago, insisting he was neither a liberal nor a conservative. Now the LePage team body mechanics have souped up Moody as ‘a lifelong conservative.’ So which is it, Shawn, were you lying then or are you lying now?”
