Augusta, Maine – Mainers are calling out Senator Susan Collins for her lack of leadership as funding cuts hurt Maine and as she and the U.S. Senate consider devastating cuts to Medicaid. Here are some of the latest examples of Mainers calling out Collins:
Here’s what they’re saying:
Mainer Marna Miller in the Lewiston Sun Journal on DOGE cuts: “When I voted for Sen. Susan Collins in the past, I did so on the strength of her support for causes she believes in [...] What does it mean when Susan Collins doesn’t fight for the very things she promotes herself as standing for? Susan Collins, what are your principles now?”
Mainer Cindy Leach on proposed Medicaid cuts: “Senator Collins, I cannot believe you and your party want that burden on your shoulders, blood on your hands.”

REMINDER: If Republicans’ reconciliation bill passes, 51,000 Mainers could lose their health care coverage. Despite this, Collins has already come out in support of provisions that will make it harder for eligible people to maintain their MaineCare coverage – including ripping away health care from thousands of fishermen who fuel Maine’s billion dollar industry.
The new condemnation of Collins comes as Mainers continue to criticize Collins for failing to use the seniority and power she once campaigned on to protect Maine and put a stop to devastating cuts affecting Maine.
