Maine Democratic Party Chair Drew Gattine released the following statement on tonight’s gubernatorial debate hosted by the Portland Press Herald and Maine Public:
“Paul LePage’s divisive behavior embarrassed Maine people for eight years, but even worse than what he said was what he did – like denying health care to Maine people and seniors, underfunding education, driving up property taxes, and opposing women’s reproductive freedoms. Governor Mills has led Maine through tough times, and every step of the way she’s shown us that she will always put Maine people first. With our health care, our economy, and our reproductive rights on the line, one thing is clear: we will not go back to Paul LePage.”
