In response to Governor Mills’ reelection victory, Maine Democratic Chair Drew Gattine, issued the following statement:

“We’re thrilled that Maine voters have decided to send Governor Janet Mills back to the Blaine House for a second term. In her first term, she faced the unprecedented challenges that came with the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, even in the face of a global health crisis, Governor Mills delivered real results for the Maine people. Under Governor Mills, Maine expanded access to health care, delivered long-overdue property tax relief, finally met the 55 percent funding threshold for Maine’s public schools, safeguarded our reproductive rights, provided one of the strongest inflation relief measures in the nation, and so much more.

“I have no doubt that in her second term Janet Mills will continue to move Maine forward and work with Democrats, Republicans, and Independents – or whoever she needs to – to deliver results for Maine people.”
