Following Governor Janet Mills’ remarks on this morning’s White House call with the nation’s governors, Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra released the following statement:
“While Trump fuels the fire with tweets and sows division with his rhetoric, Governor Mills has continued to put Maine people first and showed tremendous empathy and compassion in these trying times. The President, on the other hand, has shown no capacity for leadership, instead looking to spin the nation’s growing unrest and taking it as an opportunity for political gain. His upcoming visit to Maine is no different. Mainers need real leadership from the federal government right now, not a photo op.”
