Maine Democratic Party Congratulates Speaker Gideon and Senate President Jackson

Augusta, MAINE - Maine Democratic Party Chair Phil Bartlett issued the following statement congratulating Speaker of the Maine House Sara Gideon, Maine Senate President Troy Jackson, and new and returning Members of the legislature after they were sworn in today:

"Congratulations to Speaker Sara Gideon, Senate President Troy Jackson, and to the new and returning Members of the legislature.

"We made promises to Mainers that we will improve their lives, and the lives of their children and grandchildren. We're excited to see the legislature and Governor-elect Mills get to work on fulfilling those promises to move Maine in a new, better direction—together."
