Following the conclusion of the Maine Democratic Party statewide caucuses, Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra issued the following statement:

“What I saw from Maine Democrats this week gives me hope for this election cycle. Mainers turned out in record numbers to make their voices heard in Tuesday’s Presidential Primary, and today thousands joined together to Rise and Organize for caucuses around the state.

“Thank you to every Democrat who came out today from every corner of our state to make our party stronger. I want to give a special word of thanks to every caucus convener, volunteer, county and municipal committee leader and member who put in countless hours planning and executing hundreds of successful caucuses across the state.

“Democrats are doing the hard work of building the grassroots coalition we need to win this year. We connected with fellow Democrats in our communities who know that the stakes this November couldn’t be higher. We rallied with friends, families, and neighbors, showing the energy and enthusiasm it’s going to take to make Donald Trump a one-term president, defeat Susan Collins, and elect Democrats up and down the ticket.

“I’m proud of what we’ve already accomplished this year to make the values Democrats stand for real for Mainers. We’re ready to harness the energy and enthusiasm from today’s successful caucuses into action to carry us across the finish line this November. Because this isn’t just an election, it’s a movement.”
