In light of Governor Mills’ announcement of Maine’s positive cases of COVID-19, we wanted to keep you updated on our ongoing efforts to prepare at the Maine Democratic Party, and to let you know your health and safety are our top priority.

We have a dedicated team that meets regularly to assess, address, and adapt to the situation as it evolves. We will continue to monitor on a daily basis and are ensuring appropriate contingency plans are put in place for any upcoming gatherings.

We’re also preparing contingency plans should it become necessary to make our field program fully virtual so we can stay engaged and not lose sight of our mission, while ensuring everyone is as safe as possible.

In the meantime, we want to make sure everyone continues to take this situation seriously. The best thing we can do to protect our health is to take the same preventative measures recommended to avoid catching a cold: wash your hands often for 20 seconds, cover coughs and sneezes, and stay home if you are sick.

Governor Mills and the Maine CDC have been preparing for this eventuality and are working diligently to minimize our exposure and limit the potential spread of the virus here. We recommend visiting the Maine CDC website for additional information on Maine’s response to COVID-19.

As more information is made available, we will adjust accordingly. Our top priority is to ensure everyone’s safety and wellness.
