During Trump’s visit to Maine today Senator Susan Collins tried to hide out in Washington to attend a high dollar fundraiser and avoid any association with the leader of her party and his thinly veiled political stunt that forced essential workers at the facility he toured to throw out desperately needed medical supplies.
Unfortunately for Senator Collins, that didn’t really work out. Not only did Maine people notice her conspicuous absence, and make their frustrations with her known at protests, but national media outlets picked up on her effort to evade the president’s visit, and their inquiries forced her team to dodge questions about her support for Trump’s reelection for the eighth time.
