Westbrook, MAINE – In case you missed it, in a recent radio interview Republican gubernatorial candidate Garrett Mason doubled-down on his admiration for Governor Paul LePage, saying that LePage “did this state a world of good” and that he “would be honored to have him by my side” on the campaign trail.

“Garrett Mason is woefully out of touch with the needs of Maine if he honestly believes that Paul LePage did us ‘a world of good’,”said Phil Bartlett, Chairman of the Maine Democratic Party. “Maine people know that Mason wants to be LePage’s third term, but when childhood poverty and hunger are increasing, when the number of deaths from drug overdoses is near an all-time high, and when Medicaid expansion still hasn’t been implemented, the last thing we need is four more years of LePage’s failed policies.”
