To mark 100 days until the the General Election, Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra released the following statement:

“Enthusiasm from Democrats in Maine has never been higher, but 100 days out from the election in November, we aren’t taking anything for granted. Every day between now and November 3 is crucial time to recruit new volunteers, safely communicate our values to voters, and build a robust Get Out the Vote effort to ensure victory for Democrats across the state.

“The stakes in this election couldn’t be higher. Donald Trump promised better, cheaper health care, fairer trade deals, and that he would defend working Americans. But he has failed to deliver on every promise he made to Maine people. And Susan Collins has been right next to Trump through it all, enabling him at every turn, refusing to hold him accountable for his abuses of power, and rubber stamping his extreme agenda while fighting for corporate special interests, not Mainers.

“We can’t afford to waste any time in this crucial homestretch. Our hard work so far has paid off, but in these final 100 days, our job is to capitalize on this momentum to defeat Donald Trump, flip the Senate, and elect Democrats up and down the ballot this November.”
