Westbrook, MAINE - Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett issued the following statement today after Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Judge Brett Kavanaugh both testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee:
“Dr. Ford’s testimony today was credible, concise, and compelling, and I believe her. She’s passed a polygraph test, called for an FBI investigation, and asked for witnesses to testify. I believed Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination should have been rejected on the merits of his record and philosophy. Now, based on these credible allegations and the testimony we heard today, it’s become clear that he does not possess the integrity, character, or temperament to be appointed to a lifetime position as a Justice on our highest court.”
