Lewiston, MAINE -  The Maine Democratic Party (MDP) today officially opened its newest campaign office in Lewiston. The new office space will serve as a community organizing hub for Democratic candidates running for office this November. This year, MDP has been making early investments in grassroots organizing, a critical move that will be central to mobilizing Democrats to take action heading into this election season.

MDP Chairman Phil Bartlett, who spoke at the office opening this evening, issued the following statement:

"We couldn’t be more excited to be opening an office in Lewiston. Through hard work, sweat, blood and tears, blue collar Mainers built this amazing community and it’s been Democrats who have fought to have their backs every step of the way. We look forward to continuing to fight for hard-working Mainers, and we’re ready to get to work earlier than ever as we make our case to voters across the state. That’s why we’ve already opened two other offices in Maine's 2nd congressional district, and today we are proud to build on our commitment as we open our third CD-2 office in Lewiston."

The opening of the office in Lewiston demonstrates the Maine Democratic Party’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that Democrats have a strong presence in every corner of the state. MDP is investing more money, earlier, to elect Democrats who will fight for affordable, high-quality health care; stronger schools; good, high-paying jobs; and economic opportunity that will help grow Maine’s middle-class and strengthen our economy.

In addition to the new office in Lewiston, MDP maintains a permanent headquarters located in Augusta, and has opened field offices in Brewer, Dover-Foxcroft, and Westbrook within the past several months.
