Westbrook, MAINE - Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett released the following statement today in response to Maine House Democrats defeating attempts by Republicans to roll back Maine’s minimum wage increase:
“Democrats are the party of working Mainers, and all you have to do is look at today’s effort by Republicans to rollback the voter-approved minimum wage increase to know it. Democrats understand that empowering the middle-class by growing their paychecks is how we can build a thriving economy — and we will continue to fight to turn back every effort by Republicans who want to do the opposite. Maine people deserve decent wages, and Democrats want to help give it to them.”
