State Convention

The Maine Democratic State Convention was held May 31st and June 1st, 2024, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The convention is an incredible gathering that combines important decision-making and powerful community building. Attendees will have the chance to hear from our Party's elected leaders and candidates, as well as representatives from important progressive organizations.

Delegates to the State Convention will also get to vote on important matters such as electing Party leadership, and amendments to the Party Platform and Charter.

Any Democrat can propose an amendment to the MDP Platform or Charter, and run for State Committee, National Delegate, Democratic National Committee Member, and Presidential Elector by taking out an online petition through our system and collecting signatures from State Delegates and Alternates.

One of the most important functions we can do at the Maine Democratic State Convention is to recognize those people who are exceptional in their field. Whether it is for public service, party activism, or volunteerism and grassroots support, please take a minute to nominate an exceptional Maine Democrat for one of our three Convention Awards.

Municipal and Regional Caucuses

The Maine Democratic Party Caucuses are gatherings of Democratic friends and neighbors from every town across Maine. Caucuses serve many purposes including selecting delegates to the MDP State Convention, electing local committee leaders, hearing from local legislators & candidates, nominating election clerks, and discussing local issues.
