Today, Paul LePage changed his tune on yet another policy proposal, this time backtracking on his claim that “I don't care if oil goes up to $7 a gallon for a couple of weeks.” The claim was part of a larger shot at President Biden for not yet having banned Russian oil imports. Now that the President has followed through on the ban and gas prices are rising across the country, LePage has flip-flopped yet again.

“Paul LePage continues to show that he will shamelessly change his tune on any given issue depending on which way the political winds are blowing,” said Drew Gattine, Chair of the Maine Democratic Party. “While LePage talks out of both sides of his mouth on gas prices, Governor Mills is focused on delivering real relief for Maine people – just as she always has.”

This is not the first time during this campaign that LePage has talked out of both sides of his mouth, and it won’t be the last.
