Today on a call with Maine reporters, Senator Susan Collins’ Campaign Co-Chair Josh Tardy offered his “full throated support” for Donald Trump’s reelection, and asserted that “this is a very unifying time” for Republicans, but declined to offer an explanation for Collins’ refusal to say whether she’s voting to reelect the president.

According to a fundraising email sent in April by the Collins campaign, Tardy has been with the Senator “since the beginning.” But while her campaign’s top leadership is touting their support for Trump and even attending the RNC, Collins has refused to tell Mainers the truth about her support for Trump for the last 617 days.

“Senator Collins’ own top lieutenant just gave away what she’s been trying to conceal from Mainers for more than 600 days: she’s all-in on Trump,” said Maine Democratic Party Chair Kathleen Marra. “Her continued refusal to give an honest answer to this straightforward question is all the evidence voters need that after 24 years in Washington, Collins is more interested in playing politics than telling the truth.”
