AUGUSTA, Maine – After Senate Republicans voted to move forward with their health care repeal, Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett released the following statement:
“Republicans in Congress just voted to put millions of American lives in danger. Because of their cruelty and carelessness, millions of hardworking people could have their care ripped away and older, sicker, disabled, and low-income Mainers could be forced to pay more for less care — all to give tax cuts to corporations and the wealthiest Americans.
“Health care should be a right for all, not a privilege for the few. This battle is far from over. Democrats will fight the GOP’s disastrous health care repeal bill every step of the way until they stop this dangerous political charade.”
