Senators Jon Tester (D-MT) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) to Campaign for Tom AllenMaine will be visited by two of the Senate’s newest and most beloved members, Senators Jon Tester of Montana and Sherrod Brown of Ohio. The two are heading to Maine to campaign for Rep. and U.S. Senate Nominee Tom Allen later this week. Come on out to meet them all at the following events:

“Yes, We Can!” Country Fair in Brunswick!Take a fun Maine summer fair and add Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH); Maine’s NEXT U.S. Senator, Tom Allen; Maine’s soon-to-be first Democratic woman elected to federal office, Chelie Pingree; and lots of kids and animals, and you’ve got something to do on Saturday, September 6th! From noon to 4:00 p.m., at the home of Patty Carton and John Newlin (30 East Coxon Road) in Brunswick, we are hosting a “Yes We Can!” Country Fair. Bring the kids for pony and hay rides, a cake walk, kids’ crafts, a pie-eating contest, diaper derby, raffle, and yes, Donkey Drop Bingo ($75 a plot or $125 for two plots)! Also joining us: special musical guest Old Grey Goose. |
Jefferson-Jackson Dinner Tickets AvailableThe 2008 Jefferson Jackson Dinner will be held Saturday, September 20th at the Lewiston Armory. Cocktails start at 5:00 p.m.; dinner at 6:00 p.m.; speaking program 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. (Note new start time!) Tickets are $50/person or $80/couple. Maine Dems Hiring Office Manager for Augusta OfficeThere is an opportunity to join our campaign and work to effect change in this country! The Maine Democratic Party is hiring a qualified person to manage our Augusta Office between now and the election. The position is full time and begins immediately. The Office Manager will be responsible for working with our Operations Director and Executive Director to make sure office has the supplies it needs. He or she also will be responsible for answering phones at the Augusta Office. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and able to work on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Meet Chellie in Kennebunkport, Brunswick or Gray!The Kennebunkport and Kennebunk Democratic Town Committees invite everyone to join Chellie Pingree this Thursday, September 4, 2008, for their “Two Months to Victory” Party. The party is from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust. On Saturday, Chellie will attend the “Yes, We Can” Country Fair in Brunswick mentioned above. She’ll also tour Gray area businesses and attend the Gray Democrats’ Picnic at 5:00 pm. The picnic is at the home of John & Susan Fishel on Partridge Lane. Chellie Pingree Competes in Cow Milking ContestChellie Pingree showed her stuff at the Windsor Fair’s “Political Pull” cow milking contest over the Labor Day Weekend. Androscoggin Dems Host Awards DinnerJoin fellow Democrats from across Androscoggin County on September 13th at 6:00 p.m. for their biennial awards dinner at the Fireside Inn in Auburn. It will be an evening to celebrate the group’s accomplishments with friends and look forward to victory this November. Price is $35 per person/two for $60.
