100 days, 100 towns, 100 Reasons for Change! – Come Join the Movement!With only 100 days until the November 4th Election, the Victory 2008 Coordinated Campaign Field team has been busy working with the county committees, local volunteers, and new activists looking to get involved for the very first time by coming out THIS SATURDAY, JULY 26TH for the “100 Days Canvass” all across Maine. We will be making a HUGE statement about Maine’s unprecedented ground operation and the unprecedented desire for change that our volunteers are hoping to harness by going door-to-door to talk about our talented crop of Democratic candidates. Allen Asks Susan Collins to Join Him in August Town Hall Forums in Biddeford, Rockland, Ellsworth & SkowheganTom Allen today proposed a series of four town hall meetings in August and asked Susan Collins to join him in a conversation with voters on the most important issues to most Mainers: the economy, energy prices, health care and Iraq. Allen proposed a series of four of town hall meetings with the following schedule:
Susan Collins said last month that she believes Mainers would prefer to focus on the campaign after Labor Day, and “that Mainers would really prefer to have the summer to enjoy themselves and then focus on the campaigns in the fall." [WGME Channel 13, 6/10/08] Allen sees it differently. "The Mainers I talk cannot enjoy their summers because they are very concerned about how to heat their homes this winter and how to pay for both gas and groceries," Allen said. "They want to know what their government is going to do to solve these problems. |

Chellie Pingree's Campaign Momentum Continues to BuildChellie's campaign announced post-primary 2nd quarter fundraising results last week: just under $235,000 in the six weeks from May 22 through June 30. That brings the total Chellie has raised to $1,585,518 to date, with $191,870 cash on hand. Way to go, Chellie!

Allen Maintains 7-point Spread with Collins in Latest Rasmussen Polls!For the second month in row, Rasmussen Reports said Friday that Tom Allen has maintained the narrow margin by which he trails incumbent Susan Collins. The spread remains 49% to 42%, with Collins still in the lead. The same poll showed the spread at 16 points in April, 10 points in May, and only 7 points in June and now July. |
