Teachers (MEA) endorse Tom Allen in the U.S. Senate race! |
Teachers (MEA) endorse Tom Allen in the U.S. Senate race!Congressman Tom Allen has won the backing of the Maine Education Association (MEA) for his candidacy for the U.S. Senate. "It is time for a change in policy toward our public schools, and Tom Allen is best suited to work for that change in the United States Senate representing Maine," said MEA President Chris Galgay. "His views are closest to the hearts of educators and his record of support for our issues is outstanding. He is committed to giving teachers the respect they deserve and the time and resources they need to do their job well," Galgay added. MEA said it based its endorsement upon the voting records and interviews with the candidates. MEA's vote was then forwarded to the National Education Association (NEA), which agreed with the state association’s endorsement. MEA represents 25,000 members in Maine. |
