Take Action!

MDP Month of Service

We are working with our county committees to organize community service events throughout the state in August. Join us.

The Maine Democratic Party grassroots organizing team is staffed and on the ground, and we've got a great way for you to get involved this summer!

Moving forward, the Maine Democratic Party will be present and active in your region year-round, statewide — not just during election season. Our grassroots organizing team will train volunteers, build neighborhood teams, and address the unique needs of each Maine community. It all starts with our month of service.

For the month of August, we are working with our county committees to organize community service events throughout the state. This is an opportunity to live our values as Democrats and to engage with our communities beyond knocking doors and making phone calls (don't worry — there will be plenty of opportunities to knock doors and make phone calls in the future).

The following are just a few ways folks are getting involved, with more events added throughout the month.

In coordination with the Franklin County Democratic Committee, we're joining a Tools for Teachers Potluck on Sun Aug 20, 2017, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 146 Sunset Ave, Farmington.

In coordination with the Hancock County Democratic Committee, we're contributing to a Migrant Resource Fair on Thu Aug 3, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Blue Hill Grange Hall: 1157 Pleasant St, Blue Hill and on Tue Aug 8, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church: 231 Main St, Ellsworth.

In coordination with the Penobscot County Democratic Committee, we're helping gather school supplies for a Back-to-School Backpack Program with drop off times of: Sat Aug 12 & Aug 19, 2017, at Tim Horton's: 594 Broadway, Bangor, Sat Aug 19, 2017 at Tim Horton's: 202 W Broadway, Lincoln and, Sat Aug 26 & Sep 2, 2017 at Tim Horton's: 594 Broadway, Bangor.

In coordination with the Waldo County Democratic Committee, we're helping with a Food Drive with a drop off time of: Sun Aug 13, 2017, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Belfast Free Library: 106 High St, Belfast.
