BANGOR, ME - Today, Congressman Mike Michaud praised the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) announcement that Lamoine, Littleton, and Stockholm will receive federal assistance for fire and rescue operations through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program (AFG). Full funding details can be found below.
"Investments in our firefighters will improve public safety by providing the best training, equipment and facilities we can offer," said Michaud. "With additional resources, first responders can better serve the needs of our communities."
According to DHS, the AFG program is an important component of the larger, coordinated effort to strengthen the nation's overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and related hazards.
