Party Hiring New Executive Director
The Executive Director, working with the State Chair and party
officers and Coordinated Campaign Director, oversees all programmatic and
fundraising activities of the state party. The Executive Director is
responsible for well-managed party programs that build the party at the
grassroots and forward the political objectives of the state party. He or she
must be reliable, honest, loyal and discreet. The Executive Director must
maintain up-to-date committee lists, liaise with the Democratic State
Committee, as well as attend all Executive Committee and Committee meetings.
He or she reports to the State Chair or their designee.
Primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not
limited to:
Working with Subcommittees of the State Committee.
Interviewing applicants and making recommendations for final staff
selection
Working with Finance Director and Chair on fundraising efforts.
Making sure all campaign finance reports, tax returns, and other
required reports are accurately and timely filed
Developing and maintaining professional relationships with
Democratic Party leaders, elected officials, key constituencies, and donors
Work with consultants to organize Convention
Organizing all meetings of the state committee and executive
committee as required by state party bylaws and state statute
Demonstrating an understanding of all aspects of elections
Including election law, campaign techniques, campaign planning, targeting,
polling, campaign financing requirements, and get-out-the-vote programs
Working with the State Chair and Treasurer to develop and adhere
to an operating budget
Working with party leaders to determine goals and priorities and
monitor progress
Preparing a written report of state party activities for all
meetings of the state committee and executive committee
Communications experience preferred. Job includes a
comprehensive benefits package and first-year Executive Director salary. Long
term commitment preferred.
