Michaud Statement on Karen Mills Nomination as SBA Administrator Moving Forward

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Mike Michaud, a member of the House Small Business Committee, issued the following statement after the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee held a hearing on the appointment of Karen Mills for Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator. The committee is expected to vote on her nomination later today.

"Karen Mills is an ideal candidate to lead the Small Business Administration. Her nomination will be extremely beneficial to Maine and to the nation. In Maine, where small businesses are the rule rather than the exception, Karen has worked hard to build a stronger state economy. She has also been a strong proponent of increasing our nation's efforts on economic development in general. Now is the time to strengthen the SBA so that it can be a robust part of our economic recovery. I look forward to Karen's leadership in reviving this agency's mission to provide small businesses the capital, counseling, and advocacy that they need."
