State Senator Peggy Rotundo and Sheriff Guy Desjardins kick off Auburn Grand Opening

(AUBURN, MAINE) - Obama's Campaign for Change kicked off the "Grand Opening" of its Auburn Office today with State Senator Peggy Rotundo and Androscoggin County Sheriff Guy Desjardins. With the Democratic National Convention quickly approaching, Mainers kicked off the opening of the office by signing up to host convention "watch parties," knock on doors, make calls, and register new voters.

"Barack Obama has the vision and commitment to make real change happen for the people of Maine. He understands that we need to take care of Maine veterans, find affordable solutions to heat our homes, and create opportunities for working families to get ahead. Now is the time to make our voices heard by working to elect Barack Obama as President," said State Senator Peggy Rotundo.

Mainers in every corner of the state are getting involved with Obama's Campaign for Change. In preparation for Obama's historic acceptance speech on Thursday, August 28th, residents are signing up to attend and host "watch parties." These parties are free and open to the public. "Mainers need a President who will stand up for us and take on the tough challenges we face. Throughout the state, people are signing up to volunteer, knock on doors, make calls, and talk neighbor to neighbor about the kind of change Barack Obama will deliver" said Androscoggin County Sheriff Guy Desjardins.
