Maine Dems Hold Door-to-Door Canvasses in 100 Maine Communities Exactly 100 Days Before the Election

(PORTLAND, MAINE) - Volunteers knocked on doors in more than 100 communities in Maine yesterday in support of Democratic candidates exactly 100 days before the November election.

Across the state, Mainers met face to face with neighbors in their communities for the "100 Days, 100 Towns, 100 Reasons for Change" Canvass, to discuss the kind of change Barack Obama, Tom Allen, Chellie Pingree, Mike Michaud, and State House and Senate candidates will deliver.

"Mainers are ready for change and are working at the grassroots to turn out strong support for Democratic candidates in the upcoming election," said Maine Democratic Party Communications Director Rebecca Pollard. "With 100 days left before the election, our strong network of volunteers will continue reaching out neighbor-to-neighbor to bring Democrats, Republicans, Independents and first-time voters to the polls in support of the democratic ticket."

The "100 Days, 100 Towns, 100 Reasons for Change" Canvass was organized by the Maine Democratic Party's Victory 2008 Coordinated Campaign and the Maine Campaign for Change. The projects are mobilizing strong grass-roots support for Democratic candidates up and down the ticket.
