100 Days Before Election Day, Maine Dems Arrange Door-to-Door Canvasses in 100 Maine Communities

(PORTLAND, MAINE) - Exactly 100 days before the November 4th election, Maine Democratic volunteers will gather Saturday in more than 100 communities across the state to knock on doors and discuss some of the"100 reasons for change" they believe should draw voters to Democratic candidates this year.

The "100 Days, 100 Towns, 100 Reasons for Change" Canvass is being organized by the Maine Democratic Party's Victory 2008 Coordinated Campaign and the Maine Campaign for Change. The canvass will support candidates up and down the Democratic ticket, including Barack Obama, Tom Allen, Chellie Pingree, Mike Michaud and State House and Senate candidates.

Media interested in covering the event should contact Rebecca Pollard in advance at 233-7380 or rpollard@mainedems.org to find a community near them and arrange interviews.
