Howard Dean Rally this Thursday in Portland!DNC Chairman and 2004 Presidential Candidate Howard Dean will hold a “Vote for Change – Our Time is Now!” Rally at One Longfellow Square in Portland, this Thursday, July 10th, at 3:15 p.m. General admission is $10 but the special Youth Rate (24 years and under) is $5. Note: Your contribution to Victory 2008 WILL be used in connection with federal elections and is subject to federal contributions and limitations. Maine Dems Have Moxie!Androscoggin County Democrats are hoping to have a strong presence in this Saturday’s 25th Annual Moxie Festival Parade in Lisbon Falls. The parade starts at 9:00 a.m. on July 12th, and is expected to draw 20,000 people! Sign up to march and you’ll get to wear a blue t-shirt that says, “Maine Dems Have Moxie.” The t-shirts will be on sale after the parade for $10. Also, if you’re in the Bangor area, head out to the Bangor office (73 Central Street) this Wednesday, July 2nd from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. to make t-shirts, posters and banners for the parades. Caucus and Canvass in The CountyThis Saturday, July 12th, Presque Isle Democrats will caucus to elect a nominee to replace House Candidate Jeremy Fischer in District 5. The Caucus starts at 10:00 a.m. at Northern Maine Community College (NMCC). Following the caucus, all local Democrats are invited to canvass the area with the newly elected Democratic candidate. Meet at 1:00 p.m. at NMCC (in front of the John Martin Building) to join the effort. |
More events at the Presque Isle Dems' OfficeThursday, July 17th is "Family & Friends Night" at the Aroostook County Coordinated Campaign Headquarters in Presque Isle (404 Main Street). From 6:00 – 9:00 p.m., bring a friend or relative (or several of them) for phone-banking and a Pizza Party! Contact Jeralyn Cave at jcave@mainedems.org or 769-2008 for more information. Friday, July 18th is the Grand Opening for the Presque Isle office. Come by to celebrate the biggest Democratic campaign organization effort that Aroostook Democrats have seen in recent memory. The event will take place from 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. at 404 Main Street in Presque Isle. The next day is, of course, the Annual Potato Blossom Parade! The parade starts at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th, leaving from Fort Fairfield Middle High School, High School Drive (Off Rt. 1A). Needed: Volunteers for York County Door-to-Door Canvassing this Saturday!Come join MDP’s York County Regional Field Director Lydia Blume and State Senator Peter Bowman in a Door-Door Canvass this Saturday, July 12th in Kittery.
